Contact and withdrawal is important for individuals living and loving in community. We all need space and time for introspection and reflection. Constant input from others can be overwhelming at times. In community one has to pace themselves. But it’s possible to create that which works for yourself and others in the group.
At Synergy Community Farms, a tantric based community, our main focus is spirituality and nature. We are not particularly religious as a community in that we don’t participate in any strong, organized religions. While we support others in what they personally believe and their individual paths to uncovering their connection to spirit, to the gods or God or Source (or no connection for that matter), we are independent, not aligned with a particular faith but are focused around tantra.
Tantra is a high spiritual practice, a consciousness-raising devotion to one’s self and enables those who practice them to reconnect back to Source and remember who they are. For some that’s easier than for others.
While you can practice tantra with another person, a beloved or a group of people, ultimately the path home to Source lies within. Many focus on the sexual aspects of tantra, but tantra’s far more complicated and sophisticated than that. Personal reflection, meditation, prayer and introspection work to re-establish the thread to GodSource. Often people accelerate that process through divine partnerships and sacred relationships.
What’s critical is that you work on your own stuff, identify what’s junk and what’s not, overcome, supercede and over-ride blocks to consciousness, spirituality and bliss. And whether you do that alone, with a partner or in a group, part of the practice is with yourself and getting clear on your own intentions and connections to Source.
Ultimately we begin the journey alone and end it alone. Others may be with you facilitating the process on both ends of the journey and on both sides. But the process of incarnating into the body and moving out of form to spiritual awareness is extremely personal and individual.
In between life and death we have the living process. We’re not solitary beasts roaming in the jungle. We humans are social beings and as such, need other people for the most part. It’s built into our genetics and through our socialization process when we’re growing up.
So if you find yourself alone, seek a better or different way of doing things or desire to return to what once was before, you may want to consider living in community. Or you may have other reasons. Choice around how one lives is a super personal and individual one.
